Brookneal Teen Dies In Sunday Morning Crash
A Brookneal teen has become the 11th traffic fatality of 2008 on Halifax County roads, according to the state police.
Cameron Owen Mays, 17, of Dog Creek Road, was pronounced dead at the scene of the single vehicle crash around 12:40 a.m. Sunday, state police said.
Mays lost control of the 2002 Acura he was driving, ran off the left side of the road and struck a tree.
Mays was ejected from the vehicle, according to state police.
The crash occurred on Rt. 40, one-half mile east of Rt. 808 in the northern part of the county.
Trooper S.M. Krantz is the investigating officer.
