Behind the friendly face that greets grocery store shoppers in the checkout line is a competitive streak that has vaulted Halifax County High School track standout Marcus Bowman to new heights this season in his chosen sport.

Halifax County High School sophomore guards Lexi Tucker and Janiyah Logan have been named to the All-Western Valley District Basketball Team for the 2011-2012 season.
