Mr. James Harvey Miller of Pine Height Trail, Halifax died Thursday, July 22,  at Halifax Regional Hospital at the age of 71. Mr. Miller was born in Pittsylvania County Aug. 29, 1938 to the late Mr. Jack Miller and Mrs. Nezzie Petty Miller and was married to Mrs. Georgia Edmonds Miller. He was a member of Mt. Pleasant C.M.E Church and was a retired employee of Georgia-Pacific after 32 years of service.

Mr. Miller is survived by his wife, Mrs. Georgia Miller, of the home; three daughters, Ms. Alsandria Miller of Richmond, Mrs. Angela Miller Britton of Baltimore, Md. and Mrs. Annette Miller-Anthony of York, Pa.; one son: Mr. Antonio James Miller, of Baltimore; four grandchildren; six sisters, Ms. Louise Williams of Columbus, Ohio, Mrs. Flossie Edmunds of Bridgeport, Conn., Ms. Beatrice White of Baltimore, Ms. Dillie Black of Brooklyn, N.Y., Ms. Vernell Thompson and Ms. Mable Carrington, both of South Boston; one brother, Mr. Pete Miller of Halifax; two sons-in-law, Mr. Pete Britton and Mr. Tony Anthony; two brothers-in-law; two sisters-in-law; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, including the devoted Mr. Junior Coleman; other relatives and friends.

Funeral services for Mr. Miller will be Friday, July 30, at 1 p.m. at Mt. Pleasant C.M.E. Church. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends at The Crawford House Chapel in Halifax Thursday from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.  and all other times at the residence, 1064 Pine Height Trail, Halifax.
