A plaque honoring the service of the late Emmett J. Edmonds, Halifax County animal warden, was unveiled Friday inside the new Halifax County Animal Shelter.

Members of Edmonds’ family were joined by county supervisors and other county officials to commemorate the unveiling.

Edmonds family members in attendance were Branford Edmonds, Cleo E. Easley, Lillie Hunt, Latricia Rauls, Debbie Henderson and Gracye Oliver.
